THX 1138 is George Lucas's 1971 feature debut: a dystopia rendered as an infinite, shadowless white void where shaved-head conformity dissolves into over-exposed antiseptic nothing. Its signature is stark black sans-serif numerals against the blinding ground, squarish Eurostile-style grotesque typography, and clinical chrome-silver police androids.
This system distills that void into a design language: a cool bluish-clinical white ground, near-black numerals, chrome-silver surfaces, and a single emergency red. Everything is flat, shadowless, and over-exposed — the absence of warmth and depth is the point.
