The Brihadeeswarar Temple at Thanjavur, raised in mortarless granite around 1010 CE by Rajaraja Chola I, is the supreme monument of Dravidian architecture, crowned by a towering vimana. Its dressed stone has weathered to a warm ochre golden-brown that glows amber under raking morning and evening light.
This design system distills that monumental carved-stone language into digital form — deep ochre grounds, golden-tan relief highlights, inscriptional display type, and the tiered, niche-framed rhythm of gopuram and mandapa.
