About Studio Mumbai
Studio Mumbai is a design system taken from a workshop courtyard in Byculla: a pale grey lime-and-rice-husk wall, full-size mock-ups and stone samples set out on the ground in front of it, and teak frames cut and jointed on site by the studio's own carpenters.
The interface works the same way. Plaster-grey fields stay open, thin hardwood lines do the structural work, type is small and left-aligned, and vermilion turns up only as a single line of caption text. Material photographs are shown whole and large.
