SSENSE — Cover

About SSENSE

SSENSE is the Montreal luxury retailer that turned an 11-pixel, all-caps grotesque on pure white into the house style of high fashion online. Black type, grey hierarchy, one red for sale prices, and nothing else.

The 2017 redesign led by Eric Hu and Matthew Tsang set a sharp editorial serif against that anonymous grotesque, and dropped essays straight into the product grid. A garment tile and a culture feature share the same tight, flush-left structure.
