In 18th-century Kandy, anonymous mural painters covered temple walls at Degaldoruwa and Dambulla with continuous horizontal friezes of jataka birth-stories. Golden-ochre figures in flat side profile march across a deep red-ochre iron-oxide ground, bound by bold lamp-black contours and separated by registers edged in white-lime dots.
This design system translates that wall into an interface: a red-ochre page ground, gold and vermilion panels with heavy black outlines, dotted register borders, and Sinhala-led Noto typography with Marcellus carrying Latin display.
