About Saltillo Sarape
A Saltillo sarape is a tapestry-woven wool blanket built to one unvarying plan: a serrated diamond at the centre, a field of hairline zigzag stripes around it, a matching border, a neck slit. Three dye sources do all the work — cochineal, indigo, a regional vegetal yellow.
This system takes that structure literally. Indigo wool is the page, not paper. The scarlet centre earns its heat by being the only large field of it, and every transition is a discrete pick of yarn rather than a gradient.
