Constantin Brâncuși reduced sculpture to its essence — Bird in Space and Maiastra are mirror-polished brass and bronze ovoids that read as warm golden metal, set on rough-hewn oak and limestone. This system photographs the work as the sculptor did: against the warm grey-brown of his reconstructed Paris atelier, never gallery white.
The result is a dark, reductive palette where polished brass-gold is the single point of light against warm oak. Geometric early-modern type, generous negative space, and the contrast of smooth reflective metal with raw chiseled grain carry the whole brand.
