About Quantum Datacenter Cryo
A dilution refrigerator hangs upside down in its bay: gold-plated copper plates stacked widest-at-top, bare copper braids draping between stages, a plated finger at the bottom holding the chip at 10 millikelvin. Engineers call it the chandelier.
This system takes that object literally. Gold is the primary because the plating is real. Stainless steel stays grey because IBM left the cryostat can unpainted to read as cold. Cyan is instrumentation only — traces, live values, stage temperatures. The helium itself is colourless, so nothing here glows.
