Parviz Tanavoli Heech

ProMax

Parviz Tanavoli, Iran's foremost modern sculptor and a founder of the Saqqakhaneh movement, has cast the looping Persian word "Heech" ("nothing") in bronze since 1965. Lustrous on the high points and dark in the recesses, the patinated gold-brown metal glows against a near-black gallery ground.

This design system distills that single spotlit object: warm bronze-gold rising from deep umber shadow, calligraphic word-forms looping like cast metal, and recurring cage-and-lock shrine motifs — sculptural, restrained, and quietly monumental.
