Satoshi Kon's *Paprika* (Madhouse, 2006) treats color as narrative machinery: reality drains toward grey while the dreaming mind detonates into hyper-saturated fantasy. Its signature image is the nightmare parade — a surging, kaleidoscopic collage of maneki-neko cats, Japanese dolls, marching appliances and torii gates, all glowing out of a bottomless dream-violet night.
This system distills that parade into a working palette: neon pink and electric violet at full fluorescence, layered dense and maximalist against a deep violet void — never cream, never quiet, never desaturated.
