About Off-White (Virgil Abloh era)
Off-White is the streetwear-meets-luxury house Virgil Abloh founded in Milan in 2013. Its visual identity became the canonical 2010s graphic language: 45° black-and-yellow diagonal stripes, Helvetica-bold air-quoted words ("SHOELACES", "FOR WALKING"), zip-tie hangtags, and product-label typography. The aesthetic fuses Duchampian irony, appropriation, and Bauhaus-grade graphic restraint.
After Abloh's death in November 2021, art director Ib Kamara continues the project under LVMH. The look is industrial, declarative, and conceptual — clothing labeled like factory packaging, packaging labeled like luxury — a hybrid that reshaped how streetwear, fashion, and graphic design talk to each other.
