About Nikon F Professional Black
The professional black-body Nikon F is mechanical-precision incarnate: deep black-enamel paint laid over machined brass, satin-chrome accents on dials and lens rims, and white-filled engraved index marks that read like instrument calibration. Built for working photojournalists from the late 1950s onward, it set the standard for the Japanese system SLR.
Its authenticity pin is the engraving fill — black bodies use WHITE fill where chrome bodies use black. This design system distills that exactness: a true deep-black ground, satin-chrome silver, semi-condensed engraved type, and high-contrast white-on-black indices.
