About Kraftwerk Trans-Europa Express
Kraftwerk's Trans-Europa Express (1977), designed by Emil Schult at the Düsseldorf Kling Klang Studio, fused Bauhaus grid discipline with electronic-music futurism. Cream ground, saturated red, and pure black — three colors, no ornament, no compromise.
The system defined how electronic music looked for half a century: monumental Helvetica, generous white space, geometric stripe composition, and quartet portraits framed by mathematical precision. Restraint is the whole point.
