In 1814 Joseph von Fraunhofer projected sunlight through a prism and found the rainbow crossed by hundreds of fine black lines. He catalogued 570-plus of them, lettering the strongest A through K, never knowing they were the chemical fingerprint of the Sun. This system dresses in that plate: a dimmed spectrum band gradient, black absorption lines standing over the color, engraver's serif labels, all mounted on a dark blue spectroscopy plate.
