Anglerfish Lure Bioluminescence

ProMax

The ceratioid anglerfish's esca is a single point of cold light — a lure lit by symbiotic luminous bacteria glowing blue-green at 470–490 nm, suspended in the crushing pitch-black of the abyss. This system frames that one luminous organ as an old engraved monograph plate: Fell-engraving serifs, fine line hatching, and depth annotations surrounding a glowing green-cyan esca adrift in pressure-dark void.

Nearly the entire canvas is black. Light is rare, precise, and bacterial — never sunlit, never paper.
