Diatom Arrangement

Diatom Arrangement is drawn from the lost Victorian craft of mounting single-celled algae — their glass-like silica shells, or frustules — into perfectly symmetric rosettes on a single microscope slide. Under dark-field illumination the ground is a true black void and the valves glow from within, their finely spaced pores acting as a diffraction grating that throws off structural iridescence in cyan, Prussian blue, mint, and the occasional gold.

This system inherits that logic exactly: a near-black field, radially mirror-symmetric jewel-like compositions, and refined period scientific serifs. Forms are luminous on black, spaced with mathematical precision, and framed by thin concentric rings — never flat clip-art, never the white ground of bright-field microscopy.

「硅藻排列」取材自一门几近失传的维多利亚手艺——显微镜师把单细胞藻类清洗干净， 将它们玻璃般的二氧化硅外壳（壳面 frustule）一片片排成完美对称的花环，安置在一张 载玻片上。在暗场照明下，背景是纯黑的虚空，壳面自内发光；其细密排列的孔隙如同 衍射光栅，折射出青、普鲁士蓝、薄荷绿乃至偶现的金色结构色光。

这套设计沿用了同样的逻辑：近乎漆黑的底场，呈放射状镜像对称的珠宝般构图，以及 考究的时代科学衬线字体。形态在黑底上发光、以数学般的精度排布、由纤细的同心圆环 环绕——绝不用扁平的藻类剪贴画，也绝不取明场显微的白底外观。黑底正是整个效果的灵魂。
