About Eretz Israel Tourism Poster
Franz Krausz's 1936 *Visit Palestine* is a six-colour stone lithograph carrying two words of English. The view looks west from the Mount of Olives: one tree in silhouette at the left edge, the Old City walls and the Dome of the Rock across the centre, all of it under a flat golden-ochre sky that takes more of the sheet than everything else combined.
Krausz painted in gouache, often from photographic studies his wife made, then flattened the result into planes a litho stone could hold. The system that follows keeps that discipline: banded horizons, six colours, hand-drawn geometric caps, no gradient anywhere.
