Edo Rinpa (Kōrin)

Edo Rinpa is the decorative idiom of Ogata Kōrin: mineral pigment laid flat on beaten gold leaf, where the gold itself does the work of negative space. Azurite irises and malachite leaves repeat in rhythmic, unshaded pattern across folding screens — composition as choreography, not depiction.

This system treats the page as a kinpaku ground. Color is blocked, contours are inked, and luxury is matte rather than glossy. The eye reads pattern and interval first, subject second — the Rinpa way of seeing.

江户琳派，是尾形光琳的装饰美学：矿物颜料平涂于金箔之上，金箔本身即是留白。 群青的杜若与绿青的叶在屏风上反复排列，不施明暗、不讲透视，构图如节拍般铺陈， 让人先看见图案与间隔，再看见花叶本身。

这套系统把整张页面当作金银地来对待。颜色成块、轮廓勾墨、华贵而哑光， 绝非西式的高光反射。秩序与韵律先行，描摹其次——这正是琳派的观看之道。
