Russian Orthodox Icon (Rublev school)

ProMax

The Russian Orthodox icon of the Rublev school is egg tempera on a gessoed linden board, painted against a field of burnished gold leaf — the divine, uncreated light. Saints in lapis-blue and cinnabar robes stand in reverse perspective on a radiant warm-gold ground.

This design system distills that devotional tradition into digital form: a burnished gold page, incised ochre-gold halos, assist gilding worked over robes, and earthy sankir browns — solemn, warm, and luminous, never cream or stark white.
