Daido Moriyama Are-Bure-Boke

ProMax

Daido Moriyama's are-bure-boke (grainy, blurry, out-of-focus) photography defined the Provoke-era aesthetic of late-1960s Tokyo. His restless black-and-white Shinjuku street images crush shadows to soot and blow highlights to harsh grain.

This design system translates that raw, anti-aesthetic vision into the screen: a near-pure black ground, blown grainy white as the only light, brutal contrast, motion blur, and restless tilted framing. Nothing is clean; everything is rough.
