Medellín Comuna 13 Murals

ProMax

The Comuna 13 mural movement turned one of Medellín's most violent hillside barrios into Latin America's most consequential urban-regeneration street-art project. Beginning with the 2011 inauguration of outdoor electric escalators in San Javier, crews like AKA, Chota13, and Casa Kolacho painted the neighborhood floor-to-roofline in saturated hot pink, neon green, and cobalt blue.

The aesthetic is maximalist, packed, and unapologetically loud — hip-hop visual culture rendered at architectural scale under Andean midday light. Every surface is a canvas; every composition demands three saturated colors minimum.
