About Citroën DS

The Citroën DS, unveiled at the 1955 Paris Salon, was the most futuristic production car of its age — Flaminio Bertoni's flowing aluminium-grey "Déesse" riding on Paul Magès's hydropneumatic suspension. Roland Barthes wrote that it seemed to have "fallen from the sky."

This system translates that car into an interface language: long horizontal teardrop lines, fine chrome hairlines, a cool restrained metal palette, and the calm of a gliding profile. Nothing is loud; everything sweeps.
