About Issey Miyake Pleats Please关于 Issey Miyake Pleats Please

Issey Miyake's Pleats Please (1993) revolutionized fashion through engineering rather than ornament — a heat-permanent-pleating technique that turned 100% polyester into sculpted architecture that packs flat and emerges as 3D form. The brand identity reflects this discipline: pure white walls, clean Japanese-modernist sans-serif, and saturated single-pleat-color per composition.

The visual language is engineered, not decorated. Generous white space, a strict modernist grid, and pleated-line textures evoke the flagship boutique's display-stand-as-sculpture ethos. Color enters as a single saturated pleat-tone — cobalt, orange, magenta — never as rainbow. The result feels architectural, warm-engineered, and unmistakably Tokyo.
