About Chilean Allende-Era Propaganda (1972)关于 Chilean Allende-Era Propaganda (1972)

The visual language of Salvador Allende's Unidad Popular government (1970–1973), produced by the Brigada Ramona Parra muralist-collective and Editorial Quimantú state-publisher. It speaks in flat saturated primary red, cobalt blue, and hot yellow, bound by thick lampblack outlines on cream-newsprint paper.

Bold sans-serif headlines, clenched-fist motifs, and diagonal worker-and-farmer compositions carry revolutionary optimism. The aesthetic was brutally cut short by the September 11, 1973 coup, and survives today through fragments preserved at Santiago's Museo de la Memoria.
