Calatrava White Ribs

ProMax

Santiago Calatrava's City of Arts & Sciences rises in white concrete and white steel — forms that read as rib cages, whale skeletons and bleached bone, lashed together by radiating horizontal ribs. Photographed always against the brilliant Valencian sky, the structure becomes a drawing: bone-white linework suspended in saturated blue. This system takes that reading literally — a deep sky-blue ground, white skeletal members, and a bright sky highlight, presented as an engineered blueprint, never cream.
