Stećci are medieval monumental tombstones — 70,000 carved limestone slabs scattered across the Western Balkans from the 12th to 16th centuries. Crescent moons, sun-discs, kolo-dance rings, stags and vines cut in low relief mark the graves of nobles, soldiers, and shepherds of the Bosnian Church. Their weathered surfaces carry inscriptions in bosančica, a Bosnian Cyrillic script.
This design system translates the Radimlja necropolis at dusk: pale mottled limestone as ground, lichen-green for living surfaces, deep carved-shadow umber for inscription and weight. Typography sets Cinzel small-caps against EB Garamond serifs — stone-inscription authority paired with readable warmth. Every card is a stećak face-panel; every divider a kolo-ring.
