About Bashkir Wild Honey
Bortnichestvo is beekeeping done at height. A hollow is cut into a living Scots pine or linden four to sixteen metres up, left for the native Burzyan dark bee to find, and worked from a braided leather belt looped around the trunk. The tree that holds a hollow belongs to a family, and the claim is cut into the bark as a tamga — straight incised strokes that open the dark fissured surface onto pale heartwood.
This system takes the trunk as its layout. Everything is vertical and hung at height: narrow columns, a single rising axis, content stacked against deep bark. Honey gold carries the interface; the tamga is never filled, only cut.
