Aneroid Barometer

The aneroid barometer turned the measurement of atmospheric pressure into furniture. A silvered dial printed RAIN · CHANGE · FAIR · STORMY sits behind a gilt-brass bezel, screwed into dark stained oak or mahogany and hung in the gentleman's study. A slender blued-steel pointer and a brass set hand read the weather to come.

This system is built from that object: a deep figured-wood ground, gilt brass for every important edge, an aged-ivory dial face that never bleeds onto the page, engraved serif and small-caps lettering, and a single restrained red reserved for the STORMY end of the scale. It is warm, precise, and quietly luxurious — an instrument, not an app.
