Born from Reverend John Flynn's 1928 mission to bring medical aid across half a continent, the Royal Flying Doctor Service married single-engine biplanes with Alf Traeger's pedal-powered wireless sets. By the 1950s every cattle station kept a Traeger radio in a corrugated-iron shed, its bakelite knobs warm under kerosene light. This design system channels the dispatch shack at dawn — RAAF hangar green, stencil-red signage, typewriter logs, and schematic diagrams pinned to plywood walls. It is practical, legible, and unmistakably Australian.
