About Arrival Logogram
Arrival renders first contact as a hushed, near-monochrome fog: a smoke-filled chamber behind a glass barrier where inky circular logograms hang suspended in mist. Bradford Young's cinematography is deliberately desaturated and low-contrast — a linguistics-sci-fi minimalism.
This design system distills that suspended-gray world into tokens: dense neutral fog grounds, black smoke-ink marks, a linguist's serif-and-mono type voice, and soft-edged ink against haze. Never paper, never bright — always the quiet weight of an alien language being decoded.
