About Amauta Magazine
Amauta was printed on a Lima jobbing press from September 1926 — two inks, one press run, coloured cover card. A dark slate-navy carried the rule frame, the brush-cut AMAUTA logotype and every line of type; a second colour rotated with the issue.
Number 2, October 1926, ran vermilion behind José Sabogal's woodcut of an Andean head in a chullo. This system keeps that economy: the card is always the ground, the frame is always hand-ruled, and colour arrives as a flat block of ink, never as decoration.
