Altered Carbon renders the 25th century as luxury cyberpunk noir — Bay City towers drowned above the clouds, their rain-slick glass blasted with ever-mutating magenta-violet and holo-cyan advertising. Neville Kidd's cinematography skews the Blade Runner amber-and-cyan palette toward magenta and violet, an over-stimulated hologram glow.

The ground is a near-black violet-tinted night, chosen so the neon screams off it. This system is saturated, hard, and atmospheric: glowing-edge panels, neon outline buttons, scanlines, and chromatic glitch over a noir black that never softens to pastel.
