The dark teak stilt houses of old Bangkok rose on posts above the klong, clad in sun-cured mai-sak planking that oxidized and oiled across the early twentieth century into a deep umber. Steep gables, peg joinery, and chamfered post heads gave them a warm, dusky, hand-built character — weathered wood, never fresh-sawn timber.
This system distills that aged teak into a digital surface: oiled-plank umber grounds, vertical board rhythm, carved-panel framing, and the low directional light of a sun setting over the canal.
