Shōwa Kissaten draws from the postwar Japanese jun-kissa — dim coffee houses panelled in dark stained walnut, where a worn counter glows under low amber lamps and glass sugar jars catch the light. Brown is the defining tone, carried by wood and coffee rather than paper.
The system pairs warm mincho headings with brush and rounded-retro accents, evoking hand-written menus and softly lit signboards. Cream appears only as a menu-card accent, never as ground. The mood is cosy, lived-in, and quietly nostalgic — a refuge from the bright modern café.
