Jingdezhen Blanc

ProMax

Jingdezhen Blanc draws on Yongle 甜白 — the "sweet-white" porcelain of the Ming imperial kiln. Its surface is a warm, mellow, faintly translucent glaze-white, never cold or stark. The only ornament is anhua: incised floral and scroll motifs that vanish into the glaze and surface again only under raking light. Set against a dark museum vitrine, the sweet-white glaze appears to glow from within. Everything is close-valued and soft-edged: tonal shadow gradients stand in for color, and the quiet carved relief carries all the decoration.
