New Romantic Blitz (1980)

ProMax

The New Romantic movement was born at Steve Strange's Blitz Club in Covent Garden, London, where a ruthless Tuesday-night door policy demanded theatrical costume over coolness. Patrons arrived in pirate ruffles, Weimar tuxedos, and Bowie-Berlin makeup — and the aesthetic that poured out of that basement reshaped British pop for half a decade: Visage's *Fade to Grey*, Spandau Ballet's *Journeys to Glory*, Adam and the Ants' *Kings of the Wild Frontier*.

This design system captures the Blitz's visual DNA — velvet-dark backgrounds lit by a single hard flash, gold-braid serif type that reads like an embossed album sleeve, jewel-tone accents in ruby and sapphire, and the maximalist conviction that restraint is simply another word for cowardice.

从那间地下室涌出的美学重塑了半个十年的英国流行乐:Visage 的《Fade to Grey》、Spandau Ballet 的《Journeys to Glory》、Adam and the Ants 的《Kings of the Wild Frontier》。
