Gulf Futurism

ProMax

Gulf Futurism, named by artist Sophia Al-Maria and musician Fatima Al-Qadiri, is the visual language of the hypermodern Arabian Peninsula: oil money rendered as neon, deserts paved into air-conditioned megamalls, and Arabic calligraphy reborn as holographic signage. It is read from a black tinted-glass facade at desert night, washed in petroleum magenta and electric cyan.

This is not the souk and the camel — it is the atrium, the LED column, the gold escalator. The aesthetic holds luxury and unease together: dazzling surfaces over disorientation, a future that arrived too fast and too rich. Saturated light on deep purple-black is its non-negotiable signature.
