Milton Glaser and Push Pin Studios rejected Swiss minimalism in favor of eclectic, illustrative, warmly human design. From the rainbow-haired Bob Dylan poster (1966) to the ubiquitous "I ❤ NY" mark (1977), Glaser proved that illustration and graphic design are the same discipline.
This system is built on hand-drawn line, warm vermillion and cobalt, sunflower yellow, and period-mixing serifs. It composes with illustration, not grids. The rule is eclecticism: historicist serif paired with typewriter body, flat pop color over vintage engraving texture, asymmetric layouts held together by a storyteller's eye.
