Malaysian Songket (Gold-Thread Weave)

ProMax

Songket is the supplementary-weft textile of the Malay world — silk ground threaded with metallic gold filaments on hand looms in Terengganu and Kelantan. This design system translates the weight and luminosity of royal songket into interface: deep ruby and indigo grounds carry raised gold ornament, diamond-lattice grids echo the loom's geometric logic, and every surface feels lit by museum vitrine light.

The palette refuses pastel softening. Jewel-saturated silk colors anchor the page while gold-thread accents mark hierarchy and interaction. Typography pairs the didone elegance of Cormorant Garamond with the warm readability of Lora — serif voices that honor the cloth's courtly provenance.
