Commemorative Coin takes the language of the struck medal — a profile bust under a laurel wreath, a Latin legend raised around the rim, the patient sheen of gold caught between highlight and patina. Modelled on the commemorative medallions of 1900–1950 and the Roman aurei before them, it reads as struck metal, not printed ink.
Everything is staged against a dark velvet presentation field so the relief can do its work: bright crests of gold for the struck faces, bronze and patina shadow for the recesses, a denticled edge to frame the disc. Trajan capitals carry the legends; a classical serif handles the rest. It is the aesthetic of the cabinet and the mint.
