About Ethiopian Airlines 1960s
Ethiopian Air Lines put an African carrier on jets first, in 1962, and the Boeing 720B that did it wore the identity the airline is still built on: a white crown, a polished bare-metal belly, and a thick yellow cheatline outlined in thin red running the length of the fuselage.
The paper side matched the metal. Timetables, fare tariffs and the "This Is Ethiopia" poster series set the same identity in clean European sans on white stock, Latin and Ge'ez fidel carrying equal weight. This system takes that discipline literally: bands, hairlines, flush-left grids, flat ink.
