About Dieselpunk Retrofuture
Dieselpunk is the interwar machine age dreaming forward—diesel turbines, riveted brass, stepped Deco titling, and military khaki. It is darker and grittier than steampunk's Victorian whimsy: oiled gunmetal panels, sepia industry, the smell of grease and ozone.
The palette reads off a machinery control panel from 1940—olive-drab steel trimmed with tarnished brass, copper rivets, warm tan dials. Every surface looks fabricated, fluted, and bolted, lit by the amber glow of analog gauges rather than any digital screen.
