Webb's First Deep Field (SMACS 0723), unveiled on 2022-07-11, became the visual signature of the James Webb Space Telescope: thousands of gold-orange galaxies and white-blue foreground stars with six-point diffraction spikes, plus long gravitational-lensing arcs, all on the pure-black vacuum of deep space.

This design system pairs that high-contrast astrophotography with a clean scientific data-annotation layer — monospaced callouts, coordinate readouts, and thin connector lines drawn over the deepest black ground.
