X-Ray Crystallography

ProMax

X-Ray Crystallography distills the visual language of fiber-diffraction photography — the genre of Photo 51, the 1952 exposure by Rosalind Franklin and Raymond Gosling that revealed the helical structure of DNA. Luminous white-grey reflections sit on a near-black exposed plate, arranged in the diagonal X-cross of a helix.

It is a monochrome, measured aesthetic: symmetric spot lattices, layer-line spacing, period scientific-journal serifs, and a single restrained schematic blue. Quiet, precise, and weighty as a developed photographic film.
