About Bulgarian Kukeri Mummers
The Kukeri (Survakari) are Bulgaria's winter mummers — dancers cloaked in shaggy goat- and sheep-hide costumes, crowned by towering carved horned masks and hung with heavy copper-bronze bells. Scarlet kerchiefs and red wool tassels blaze against the dark animal hide as the troupes drive out winter and bless the coming year.
This design system distills that raw ritual force into digital form: near-black hide grounds, blood-scarlet wool, brass and bronze bell metal, and bone-horn off-white — heavy, tactile, and handmade, never clean or corporate.
