Tiwi Pukumani Pole

Tiwi tutini (pukumani) poles are carved ironwood columns raised at mortuary ceremonies on the Tiwi Islands off northern Australia. Their black-primed bodies are painted in stacked horizontal registers of dotted lines and cross-hatch — hot red and orange ochre set against cooler yellow and white pipeclay, all carried on black.

This design system translates the upright banded pole into interface: a black ironwood ground, strict horizontal registers of dotted and hatched fill, and a flat matte ochre palette where yellow burnt in fire deepens toward orange-red. The ground is always dark — never cream.

蒂维群岛（澳大利亚北部）的图蒂尼（pukumani）柱，是丧葬仪式上竖起的雕刻铁木立柱。漆黑打底的柱身以横向条带层层堆叠，绘满点线与交叉网纹——炽热的红、橙赭石映衬较冷的黄与白瓷土，全部承载于黑色之上。火中焙烧的黄赭石会加深为橙红，造就温暖的条带色调。

本设计系统将这根挺立的条带立柱转化为界面语言：黑色铁木底色、严格的横向条带、点状与网纹填充，以及扁平哑光的赭石色板。底色始终深沉如黑漆铁木，绝不使用米白或象牙色。
