Palauan Bai Storyboard

ProMax

The Palauan bai storyboard tradition transforms architecture into sequential narrative — carved and painted friezes running beneath the eaves of men's meeting houses, depicting clan myths, fishing scenes, and moral tales in a hard red-yellow-white-black palette. Each panel reads like a comic strip rendered in wood.

This design system channels that graphic energy: bilateral symmetry, repeating panel rhythm, stylised circle-eye figures, and the unmistakable bai red ground that makes every surface feel like a carved gable brought to screen.
