Moldovan Covor Kilim

ProMax

The Moldovan covor is a handwoven wool flat-weave from pre-1900 Bessarabia, distinguished by a charcoal-black wool field carrying large naturalistic garlands of crimson roses, serpentine vines, and forest-green foliage. Where Aubusson floral carpets bloom on pale grounds, the covor inverts the convention — its dark field makes saturated rose, sky-blue, and marigold-gold blooms glow like embroidery on velvet.

This design system translates that matte, hand-woven warmth into a dark interface vocabulary: a deep charcoal ground, jewel-saturated botanical accents, old-world serif type, and fringed ornamental borders that frame content like the selvage of a woven rug.
