The Apollo Lunar Roving Vehicle crossed the Moon between 1971 and 1972, sheathed in amber-gold aluminized Kapton thermal foil — the most distilled image of 1960s–70s NASA engineering. Its visual signature is metallic gold glinting against the pitch-black airless lunar sky and medium-gray regolith.
This is hard-edged aerospace functionalism, not nostalgia: riveted panels, stencil part-numbers, wire-mesh wheels, and instrument-deck grids rendered in sharp orthographic framing at high contrast against the void.
