Liturgical Advent Violet

Liturgical Advent Violet draws from the penitential vestments of the Roman rite — deep purple silk damask worn through Advent and Lent, framed by pointed Gothic arches and lit by candle flame. Gold-thread orphrey crosses and IHS monograms glint against the dark cloth, every surface tuned to a reverent, expectant solemnity.

This is an aesthetic of restraint and depth: muted candlelit purples, Trajan-style Roman capitals, blackletter missal headings, and illuminated drop-caps. Nothing is bright or casual; the mood is the hush before Christmas, the discipline of the penitential season made visible.
